I am actually shocked at some of the bad reviews... I have been to MANY Chinese places down here and this one is the BEST. The rice is delicious and isn't all sticky and old.... i love the Mushu chicken. My husband gets sesame chicken and has tried the orange chicken and beef lomein and even he says it is the best. A lot of these restaurants I can tell the food is pre made and old, and they just heat it up. At China Gardens I can tell that they actually cook it fresh. Even when they forgot my white rice one time, my husband went back and they gave us extra rice. When I go to pickup my order, that place is always packed which says something about the food too! If it was empty I would be worried.

Had dinner there with a group of friends and we had a very pleasant time. China Garden is located in a non-descript strip mall, and the interior is what you might typically expect. It is not a fine-dining establishment, but it is perfect for excellent Chinese food in a neighborhood restaurant. The food and the service were wonderful. We called ahead for reservations and they were very accommodating. They serve the best crunchy noodles and hot tea when you sit down. Most dinners come with your choice of soup, (all were judged delicious), appetizer, (yummy not greasy egg rolls) entree and dessert. I had "Lovers Shrimp" which was shrimp served two ways - Szechwan style and classic white sauce. Others had shrimp and eggplant, and shrimp in a birds nest. Everyone truly enjoyed their dishes, and everyone had leftovers to take home. Dessert was ice cream; homemade coffee ice cream was a nice surprise. I love Chinese food and I love this place.

I just ordered food tonight(Sunday) since nothing else was open and I was not going to settle for pizza. I placed a take out order for a Chicken Fried rice and wanted mushrooms and broccoli to substitute for carrots and peas. It's not a big deal, but I was not informed about an extra $1 charge. I also ordered a beef chow mein. Though they are quick, food is not so great. The beef in the beef chow mien and the chicken in the fried rice are rubbery and does not taste like real meat. The white rice that came with it was completely mushy. DOES NOT taste like real Chinese cuisines, especially for something so simple and is not worth another cent! Not coming back here again. Ever.

Went for the. 2 lb Lobster Cantonese. Lobster was well cooked. , cracked nicely and the accompanying lobster sauce was flavorful. Wife had Orange Chicken. They use a thicker chicken breast so the chicken is not dried out. Not heavily breaded either. Typical atmosphere. Pleasant server. Only thing that was annoying was the dinging bell each time the door was opened. An older crowd fer sure, but a good fining experience. Reservations are a must.

The good: The food did not make me physically ill. The bad: Everything else. Arrived 5 minutes early for reservation. Pushed through the dense crowd of waiting people. Was told 10-15 minutes wait. OK. Was seated 53 minutes later. We were offered to be seated after 45 minutes if we didn't mind sharing a table with another party. We declined. Overcrowded, loud, filthy, and sticky table. Service staff running around chaotically. The place was significantly understaffed and overbooked. Ordered Egg Foo Yung appetizer. Was brought eggroll but before we could say anything, the waitress vanished. Finally complained and some unidentifiable meat on a bone was thrown at us. Third time was the charm. Got what we ordered. Food quality ranged from low-end acceptable to barely edible. Nothing had any flavor. Did my best to fix it with copious duck sauce and mustard. Observed numerous patrons complain about mistakes on checks. One ended in a screaming fight between owner and patrons. Police were called in. Perhaps the worst dining experience I have had in many years, but the police incident was at least a bit entertaining. Not sure if this is their typical winter Sunday night, but I don't plan to check back.

This should teach me to ignore my mother-in-law's recommendations. While service is pleasant and the ingredients fresh, this place is a diabetic's nightmare: every dish seemed loaded with sugar, including hot and sour soup. Peking duck was served sans scallions and was tough and dry. Ice cream for dessert was pumped with air and devoid of flavor. Not a place I'll revisit.

Good food. China Garden is open Monday so that is great. I get the take out delivered and on time and hot. Also, not sure if on purpose but they gave us chicken wings as an extra. Szechuan beef was really good and fresh. So was the sweet and sour chicken.

Saw this on my way home for many years and gave it a try. Its in a little strip plaza near Atlantic and Military. The won-ton soup had plenty of won-tons and pork in it... but it lacked any real flavor. The egg rolls were good texture but again lacked any real flavor. Finally I got the Pork Fried rice.... this also had many vegetables, egg, etc... but it also lacked any real flavor. Not sure how you cook out the flavor in everything???

First of all, I (used) to go there all the time for the past decade for both eat in or take out. Kitty, Maggie and the entire staff are great but........thats where it now ends. I`ve gone back several times in the past year and the food quality has deteriorated to simply "poor". Its obvious that the (owner) is not doing the cooking behind the wok anymore, assuming again, if he ever did. They need to bring back their old Chef or kidnap one from a Chinatown. Not to despair, right around the corner in the Winn Dixie Shopping Center is Bird`s Nest Chinese Restaurant which is still excellent. Too bad, China Gardens went from Excellent to Poor without stopping anywhere in between.

This is one of the worst chinese restaurants I've seen. The place is dirty and the staff is extremely rude. After waiting over a half hour for a table, I asked the manager how much longer and he shouted very busy. Finally got seated, waited 10 minutes to get my order in and the rubber food came. It was inedible. Chicken was tough and the sauce was nauseating. This is the worst place I have eaten at in South florida

Took Mom there for her 87th birthday dinner. NO, I didn't have them sing. Nobody would have known what they were saying. Of course, I was one of the youngest in the place. The food was good. It was not especially spicy. You have to ask for that. i guess that is suited to their customers. Had Kung Pao Beef and Mom had Shrimp with Lobster Sauce. She only complained about the rice not tasting right. Everything else was good. I enjoyed my meal, except for the tasteless egg roll. Other than that, I'd go there again. Get the Egg Foo Young instead of the egg roll.

Good standard old school chinese. Should get a 3 and a half. Fast, reliable and clean. Filled with all the grand parents. Lobsters coming out left and right. Every meal comes with soup and egg rolls. Don't expect gourmet or fusion. Standby chinese when you have that feeling.

We order the Krab Rangoon appetizer. We get cream cheese dumplings. So I say to our server, there's no crab in here, it's all cream cheese. She says, we spelled crab with a K, Krab. That means there's no crab. What?!?! The roast pork fried rice that came with our meal was cold and crunchy and obviously made hours earlier and inedible. I got the honey garlic shrimp which wasn't bad. Boyfriend got the beef with broccoli. Said the broccoli was good. Server was good until it apparently was time for the whole staff to sit down and eat. And there was poop all over the ladies room toilet. Also, $12.99 for 6 spare ribs as an appetizer? We pay our check and our server comes chasing after us in our car with a calculator saying she split the check wrong and that if we don't pay the $10 difference she will have to and she only gets paid $2 an hour. What? Don't recommend. Won't ever be back.

Good food. Horrible customer service. I have had weight loss surgery. I cannot eat soup, egg roll, rice or desert. I had Steamed Salmon, Shrimp and veggies. Garlic sauce on the side. They still billed me for a combo. When I said I can't eat ANY of the combo, she said that's the price. I told them I would not be back. A couple of years ago they charged me for having to deliver where I live (55+ community. The community is known for having lousy tippers.) I am usually a generous tipper. They are supposed to have free delivery. Nuts to them.

My personal favorite Chinese restaurant in Delray. First, the people who answer the phone are really nice. It's so great not to feel like I'm being yelled at to finish placing my order. They customize dishes, no matter how unusual. "shredded chicken with bamboo shoots in garlic sauce" is my current fav but other times I'll order "general tzos" NOT fried, and it's great also. You usually get something free with your food, like an egg roll or soup and the food is always good. I really can't complain about this place, I just wish it had more fresh veggies to choose from. No strawmushrooms and the bamboo shoots aren't fresh, but it's still my top choice

My mother took me here once when I visited and now we return everytime -- love the lobster specials and won ton soup :) ...very impressive, though hard to get in after 5:30PM because so many others in the area apparently think the same.

First time here. Highly recommended by a friend. I will not take his recommendations again. All food was tasteless. It seems they do not cook with any seasoning whatsoever.amazed that with all the Chinese restaurants in the surrounding this one is busy. First and last time.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
